This particle simulation models temperature mixing in an idealized gas. Fast-moving red particles begin on one side of a chamber, while slow-moving blue particles begin on the other. Remove the wall to let the particles mix, collide, and redistribute kinetic energy. Each particle's color changes with its speed, making the approach toward thermal equilibrium visible in real time.
